URBAN CHANGE
Urban Change is a volunteer-based community outreach organization founded in 1999 to support under-served urban and suburban communities. Its mission is to improve the quality of life in those communities by offering educational programs on sexual health, emotional and physical well-being, and life skills (i.e.: parenthood and career training).
Its focus has been addressing the core issues plaguing communities that are often missed in the broader discussion. Family dysfunctions, abuse (physical, emotional, and spiritual), crippling student loan debt, financial and cultural issues have been some of the themes focused on at events.
Through the arts, support groups, and workshops, Urban Change seeks to increase the awareness of those it serves. Through live stage plays, seminars, community events, and DVDs, the organization has reached more than 200,000 people worldwide. It also provides motivation, practical tools, and encouragement toward the achievement of the highest possible levels of personal integrity.
